![]() Joanna Leigh has dedicated her life's work to furthering global humanitarian outreach and social justice. AFFORDABLE / ACCESSIBLE Ms. Leigh has created the Affordable/Accessible Program, to assist struggling or low-income individuals who cannot pay full prices for services. The Affordable /Accessible Program stems from Joanna Leigh’s belief that quality health care, both physical and mental, should be both affordable and accessible to everybody. Run as a non-profit, with costs covering only enough to keep the program solvent, the Affordable/Accessible program will be a part of Ms. Leigh’s practice several hours every week. This option is a sliding payment scale where those who can help carry those who are currently less fortunate. We are all suffering the financial crisis, so clients are asked to stretch a bit, as it helps to offer that extra $10.00, as next month you may be the one out of work needing somebody to cover your session. If you require financial assistance, please request this Affordable/Accessible option. FRIENDS of WEECE, Inc. 501 (c)(3) In addition to the programs at home, Ms. Leigh is the President of Friends of WEECE, Inc., an all volunteer US based 501c(3) that is the fundraising, distribution, and project consultation arm of WEECE in Tanzania (East Africa). WEECE is a registered NGO serving to support the marginalized women of the Kilimanjaro region of Tanzania in their efforts to achieve economic stability and gender equality via microloans, education, HIV/AIDS counseling, medical care, legal advocacy, training and workshops, family counseling, mosquito net distribution, and an outreach community. Run on a shoestring budget, this little dynamic organization has won a grant from Pangea, rebuilt a road, clinic, and school for an isolated village; encouraged volunteers to travel to Africa to donate their time and energy, and developed the WEECE school for women. Above all, in addition to opportunities and services, from the perspective of the women themselves, the greatest gift WEECE offers Tanzanian women and their families is the understanding of their own true value.
